Nest had been using “dumb” display screens in European retail stores for some time, but wished to increase ROI on these spaces. Swapping over to “smart” Android screens not only educated customers and sales staff , it also increased sales in adopted stores.
An “Attract Loop” introduces the shopper to the Nest product family, while call-to-actions encourage the shopper to interact with the screen. A menu provides allows shoppers to ‘Learn more’ and ‘Try out’ each product. ‘Trying out’ allows shoppers to experience the products in store by interacting with a simulated app.
Usage data is collected and presented in a simple report that measures the number of interactions, dwell time and drop off points.
